To the Editor: Yes, most of our announced candidates are smart, hard-working, positive, personally honest and moral. I believe these descriptors apply to Billie Sutton, Tim Bjorkman, Dusty Johnson, all Democratic legislative candidates and some on the Republican side.
To the Editor: Guys, listen up. Studies in psychology inform us that some male behavior is seen by women as misogynous. This seems invisible to men. For example, a woman sitting alone in a bar might be joined by a strange man who behaves aggressively towards her. The woman may smile at his ramblings and even laugh softly. Women placate men as a form of self-defense against setting off an aggressor. But to male observers, it often appears to be a warm encounter.
To the Editor: President Trump's Republican enablers are encouraging him to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Democrats in Congress have sounded the alarm. Trump might do this very soon. If this happens, we citizens must demonstrate our displeasure by gathering together in solidarity.
To the Editor: I'm working to support a ballot initiative by circulating a petition. Our initiated measure is the Voter Protection and Anti-Corruption (VPAC) amendment. This amendment will reduce the influence on legislative decisions by deep pocket donors. We say "never again" to what the legislature did to IM 22. Repealing initiated measures shouldn't be so easy.
