For the second consecutive season, Chamberlain earned second place as a team in the Class A girls state cross country meet on Saturday at Broadland Creek Golf Course.
Patton ran a personal-best 17:09.9 on Oct. 8 at the Eastern South Dakota Conference meet and finished 11th to claim all-ESD honors for the first time in seven years for a Kernel boys runner.
Burke topped the girls team standings, while FAM nabbed the boys title. The Mitchell Christian boys team also qualified for the state meet with a runner-up finish, while the Gregory boys and girls teams qualified with top-three finishes.
