WESSINGTON SPRINGS -- Woonsocket/Wessington Springs/Sanborn Central gained 339 yards in a 33-0 win over Sisseton on Friday in the Class 11B playoffs.
Carter Grohs rushed for three touchdowns in the win for WWSSC. He gained 46 yards on 13 carries. Clay Olinger rushed for 112 yards on 18 carries, while Tryce Slykhuis added 67 yards and a touchdown. Slykhuis completed 4 of 6 passes for 72 yards and intercepted two passes on defense. Hayden Beigh picked off a pass, as well. Philip Hines recorded nine tackles. Quinten Christensen added 10 tackles and two sacks.
Anthony Tchida threw for 134 yards on 16-for-35 passing. He also gained 85 yards on 14 attempts. Andrew Kranhold added 38 receiving yards. Ty Langager had a game-high 14 tackles and Levi Greseth chipped in 13 tackles. Tchida picked off three passes in the loss.
WWSSC (7-2) travels to Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan in the quarterfinals on Oct. 29. Sisseton finishes the season 5-4.
