ELK POINT -- Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon made the most of all its wins in a dual meet against Elk Point-Jefferson on Thursday.
All six of BHSA’s wins came by fall in a 54-25 win over EPJ to improve to 6-0 on the season.
After EPJ’s Keaton Gale started the dual with a 4-2 decision over Jackson Kaul at 106 pounds, BHSA’s Jackson Caba came back to pin Hayes Johnson 11 seconds into the second round at 113 pounds. In the following match, Tyler Tjeerdsma pinned Gunner Ewing in 1 minute, 31 seconds at 120 and Jordan Rueb scored a pin over Ben Swatek in 3 minutes, 34 seconds at 138 pounds.
Riley Hellmann scored a pin over Grayson Jacobs in 3:34 at 152 and Jordan Gall pinned Matthew Smith in 1:43 at 220.
BHSA is slated to compete in the Brandon Valley Invitational on Saturday in Brandon.
Late spurt sends Madison past Howard
MADISON -- Howard traded runs with Madison early in Thursday’s dual, but the Bulldogs made their final run at the right time to seal a 39-35 win.
The Tigers fell behind 18-0 through three matches, but won the next five to grab a 23-18 advantage. Madison regained control for good with four straight wins, beginning at 160 pounds.
Colby Mennis earned a 4-1 decision against Ty Beyer at 160, followed by an 18-second pin by Spencer Monroe at 170 and a 90-second pin by Nathan Mapp at 182 for Madison (6-4).
Howard’s Riley Genzlinger (132), Isaac Feldhaus (220) and William Rentz (285) each had first-round pins. Lane Miller scored a pin in 4:30 at 145, while Kieffer Klinkhammer won a 4-2 decision at 132. Jack Neises (126) and John Callies (152) both won major decisions.
Howard (6-4) competes in the Miller Invitational on Saturday.
