Area wrestling roundup: WSWWW, KWLPG, Howard all earn two wins at quad

WESSINGTON SPRINGS—Wessington Springs/Woonsocket/Wolsey-Wessington hosted a quad on Thursday, and won two of its matches.

It earned wins over Warner/Northwestern (63-12) and Howard (36-25), though lost 45-30 to Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes. KWLPG also took down Warner/Northwestern, 71-0. Howard finished with two wins as it narrowly got past KWLPG (37-33) and easily handled Warner/Northwestern, 51-12.

WSWWW had multiple wrestlers pick up three wins, including Landon Wolter (152 pounds) and Tyler Eddy (160) both pining three. Joey Hoverson (106) had two pins en route to a three-win day. Keegan Haider (113) and Camden Jost (145) both also had a pair of wins.

For Howard, Lane Miller (113) and EJ Leetch (195) both had three wins. All three of Leetch's wins came via pin, while Miller had two pins and won a 3-1 decision. John Callies also had two pins at 138 pounds, while Kieffer Klinkhammer (120) had a pin during his two-win day. Ty Beyer had a major decision win at 145 pounds against KWLPG, as well as a pin versus Warner/Northwestern.

Cody Westendorf had a productive day for KWLPG, finishing with three wins at 185 pounds. He pinned Dawson Hanson, of Warner/Northwestern, along with 10-7 and 6-5 decisions. Grayson Hanson (126) also picked up a pair of wins for KWLPG, including a pin of WSWWW's Carter Giakowski in 52 seconds.
