PRESHO-Three area teams are in the hunt following the first day of the Mid-Dakota Monster wrestling tournament at the Lyman Gardens gymnasium in Presho.

Pierre currently holds the top spot with 164 points, but Winner is hot on its heels with 157.5 points, while Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes is in third place with 118 points and McCook Central/Montrose sits in fifth place with 92 points.

Winner's Kaden Keiser remained unbeaten, advancing to the semifinals at 120 pounds thanks to a pin 1:03 into his second round match and a technical fall in the quarterfinals. Wyatt Turnquist (138 pounds) and Trevor Peters (152) also advanced to the semifinals for the Warriors.

KWL/PG's Grayson Hanson (120) moved on to the semifinals with three consecutive pins, while Wyatt Talbott (132) also recorded three pins. Ty Namanny is also into the semifinals at 152 pounds.

Jackson Remmers (106) is into the semifinals for MCM, while teammate Blake Gessner improved to 21-0 at 160 pounds heading into the final four.

Lyman also placed three wrestlers in the semifinals in Bryson Muirhead (106), Shilo Mowry (120) and Jadeon Biggers (285).

The Mid-Dakota Monster continues on Saturday.
