FARGO, N.D. -- Five area grapplers begin the week-long U.S. Marine Corps Cadet and Junior Nationals Friday in Fargo, North Dakota.
Chamberlain’s Nash Hutmacher and Gabe Skustad, Winner’s Kaden Keiser and Wyatt Turnquist, along with Burke/Gregory’s Owen Hansen are slated to represent South Dakota in the national tournament, which runs through July 19.
Hutmacher is a returning Junior All-American and was the 285-pound runner-up in freestyle last year. The top-ranked 285-pounder in the nation according to FloWrestling.com will also compete in the Junior Greco-Roman division.
Turnquist, who was a teammate of Hutmacher’s at the U.S. Junior National Duals last month in Tulsa, Oklahoma, will also compete in junior freestyle and Greco-Roman at 138 pounds. He went 13-1 at the Junior National Duals.
Coming off a 120-pound state championship as a freshman, Keiser is slotted at in the 16-and-under 126-pound division in freestyle and Greco-Roman. Hansen is entered into the 113-pound spot in 16U freestyle, while Gabe Skustad will wrestle at 132 pounds in freestyle.
