Wolsey-Wessington shook off a slow start to down the Mitchell Christian girls basketball team, 59-27, on Tuesday.
The Warbirds trailed 8-6 after the first quarter, but scored 19 points in the second quarter to take control of the game. They capped the win with a 34-point second half to cruise past the Golden Eagles.
Leah Williams and Mya Boomsma each scored 16 points in the win. Lainey Uttecht chipped in 12 points. Macie Luce chipped in seven points.
Mitchell Christian’s Audrey Hofer scored a team-high 12 points. Whisper Eben added eight points for the Golden Eagles.
Wolsey-Wessington (11-8) plays Hitchcock-Tulare on Thursday in Wolsey. Mitchell Christian (4-14) hosts Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Thursday.
