Another blast of winter weather forced the South Dakota High School Activities Association to play musical chairs with its playoff schedule on Monday.
The Class A girls basketball SoDak 16 was originally slated for Monday, but due to school closings and road conditions, the SDHSAA moved all eight games to Thursday. McCook Central, Montrose, Mount Vernon, Plankinton and Winner Area were among the school closings on Monday. All of the games will proceed at the originally scheduled times and locations.
No. 1 West Central (21-0) faces No. 16 Crow Creek (13-8) at 6 p.m. at the Corn Palace, followed by No. 2 Winner (20-0) and No. 15 Redfield/Doland (15-6) at 7:30 p.m.
Ninth-seeded McCook Central/Montrose (17-4) plays Beresford (20-2) at 8 p.m. at Brandon Valley, while No. 13 Mount Vernon/Plankinton (16-6) plays No. 4 Hamlin (16-4) at 7 p.m. at Madison.
