Winner/Colome, Renner continue to lead amateur baseball polls

Winner/Colome and Renner hold top spots again in this week’s South Dakota amateur baseball polls.

MITCHELL — The Winner/Colome Pheasants continue to hold down the top spot in Class B, while the Renner Monarchs do the same in Class A in the season's second edition of the South Dakota amateur baseball poll.

The Pheasants started 11-0 this summer before dropping their first game of the season to Alexandria, 6-3, on Tuesday, June 21.

Here are the complete polls, reflecting action prior to June 21:

Class A — 1. Renner Monarchs; 2. Sioux Falls Hops; 3. Brookings Cubs; 4. Castlewood Ravens; 5. Yankton Tappers.

Class B — 1. Winner/Colome Pheasants; 2. Lennox Only One Alpacas; 3. Humboldt-Hartford Gamecocks; 4. Lesterville Broncs; 5. Flandreau Cardinals; 6. Crofton (Neb.) Bluejays; 7. Canova Gang; 8. Plankinton Bankers; 9. Platte Killer Tomatoes; 10. Milbank Firechiefs.

Other teams that received votes included the Larchwood (Iowa) Diamonds, Mount Vernon Mustangs and Garretson Bluejays.
