VALENTINE, Neb. -- After Day 1 of the Valentine Invite, Winner Area sits four points off the lead.
The Warriors have racked up 123 points, second to Valentine’s 127 points. Eleven Winner wrestlers advanced to Saturday’s semifinals, including Maxton Brozik and Karson Keiser in opposite ends of the 106-pound bracket.
Brozik pinned Gothenburg (Neb.)’s John Stanley in 2 minutes, 52 seconds, while Keiser earned a 14-8 decision in his first match and a 10-6 decision in his second match to advance to the semifinals.
Kaleb Osborn pinned Gothenburg’s Carson Stevens in 20 seconds in the quarterfinals at 113 pounds, while Kaden Keiser earned a 31-second pin in the second round at 126 and a pin in 1:45 in the quarterfinals.
Aaron Gilchrist scored a 18-2 technical fall against O’Neill (Neb.)’s Lio Dominguez and Riley Orel had three pins at 138, including a 70-second fall against Ainsworth (Neb.)’s Ty Conroy in the quarterfinals.

At 152, Trevor Peters pinned Amherst (Neb.)’s Jakob Graham in 1:32 during his lone match of the day after receiving a double bye, as did Joey Cole (170) and Landon Debus (195).
Preston Norrid earned a technical fall (19-4) at 220 pounds and Charley Pravacek earned a pin in 1:28 at 285.
