A strong performance from West Central's Trey Even and Anthony Lanhyam helped the West Central Trojans to a first-place finish Friday at the Parkston Invitational boys golf tournament at Lakeview Golf Course.
Even shot a round of 76 to lead all golfers while teammate Lanhyam shot a 77 to tie for second with Parkston’s Quinn Bommann. Parkston's Payton Koehn shot an 81 to finish in sixth place individually. West Central's Peyton Bettcher and Kamden Zomer each shot an 82 along with Mitchell's junior varsity Jager Juracek to finish in the top 10. Parkston's Matt Ehler shot an 83 to finish in 10th place.
West Central won the team competition with a score of 317, followed by Parkston’s team score of 332 and Mitchell’s JV in third place with 336 strokes.
Winner finished fifth with a team score of 352, led by Maxton Brozik, who carded an 86, good for a tie for 14th individually. Lennox came in fourth place with a team score of 345, led by Caleb Wipf and Dalton Plucker, who both shot a 79 to finish in fourth and fifth place individually.
