Weier, Misiaszek, Greenway win events at S.F. O'Gorman

SIOUX FALLS -- While their teammates were competing at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays, much of the Mitchell track and field team competed at a meet Friday at Sioux Falls O'Gorman High School.

SIOUX FALLS -- While their teammates were competing at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays, much of the Mitchell track and field team competed at a meet Friday at Sioux Falls O'Gorman High School.

Junior Lexie Weier won the girls' 100-meter hurdles in a time of 16.30 seconds.

Junior Dana Misiaszek won the long jump with a mark of 16-feet-7 and also took third in the high jump with a leap of 4-feet-11.

Jason Greenway won the 300 hurdles in a time of 39.35 seconds. Greenway finished more than three seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. He will be competing in the same event at Howard Wood today.

"We had a very good day," Mitchell coach Geoff Gross said.

Mitchell's girls' 400 relay team also won their event in a time of 52.89 seconds.

Nick Kummer also placed in two events. Kummer was third in the 200 in a time of 23.96 and placed fourth in the 400 in a time of 52.92.

"We were very happy with that," Gross said of Kummer's performance.

Kummer is likely to be part of the Kernels 400-meter relay team today at Howard Wood.
