YANKTON -- Alyssa Weidler scored two goals in Dakota Wesleyan University’s 6-2 win over Mount Marty on Wednesday, which gives her the most career goals in program history. She has 39 goals in her career.
Her record-breaking performance highlighted DWU’s four-goal win against the in-state Great Plains Athletic Conference foe. The Tigers had 19 shots on goal, with Josephine Bardsley also netting a pair of goals. Deandrea Johnson and Megan Hertzog both scored, as well.
In goal, Hannah Bowes and Alissa Betz combined for a clean sheet, with Betz making the team’s only save of the match.
DWU (7-2, 5-2 GPAC) hosts Jamestown (N.D.) at 5 p.m. on Oct. 21.
