Former Kernels to speak at QB Club

Former Mitchell High School athletes who are playing collegiately will be speaking at today’s Quarterback Club meeting.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. today at The Depot in Mitchell.
Scheduled to speak are Augustana College football players Justin and Jason Greenway, Mount Mary College volleyball player Courtney Miller and soccer player Megan Roth, South Dakota State University volleyball player Megan Farnham, Northern State University football player Dalton Wangerin and Minnesota West football player Dylan Hart.
Registration for youth athletics now available

The Mitchell Parks & Recreation Department is taking registration for youth athletics.
Signups are available for third through sixth grade volleyball, first through sixth grade boys’ and girls’ basketball camp and youth wrestling.

Four Red Raiders highlight all-LMVC volleyball team

The Wagner volleyball team finished first in the Little Missouri Valley Conference with a record of 6-0 in league play, and four Red Raiders earned a place on the all-conference team, with two others receiving an honorable mention.
Parkston (5-1) had three players named to the all-conference team with two being named honorable mentions.
Bon Homme (4-2) and Avon (3-3) each had two players named to the team and one honorable mention.
Scotland (2-4), Andes Central (1-5) and Tripp/Delmont/Armour (0-6) each had one player on the all-conference team and another receive and honorable mention.

USD women fall to Creighton 63-48

OMAHA, Neb - The University of South Dakota women’s basketball team fell to the Creighton University Bluejays 63-48 Tuesday.
The Coyotes (2-5) were led by guard Nicole Seekamp. Seekamp recorded 17 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals. She was the only USD player to score in double figures.
Forwards Polly Harrington and Bridget Arens each chipped in with seven points.
The Bluejays (4-2) were led by guard Marissa Janning, who tallied 20 points and seven rebounds. Guard McKenzie Fujan added 13 points, while center Alyssa Kamphaus and forward Brianna Rollerson each had 10 points and eight rebounds.
USD hits the court again Saturday against the University of Wyoming at 2 p.m. in Vermillion.
