Weber shoots 70, as Parkston wins Vermillion Invite

VERMILLION -- Parkston's Sydney Weber shot a 2-under-par 70 and won the Vermillion girls golf invite by five strokes, leading the Trojans to the team title at The Bluffs Golf Course Monday.

VERMILLION - Parkston's Sydney Weber shot a 2-under-par 70 and won the Vermillion girls golf invite by five strokes, leading the Trojans to the team title at The Bluffs Golf Course Monday.

Weber shot a 5-under-par 31 on the first nine holes and cruised to medalist honors for Parkston. Teammate Sydney Bormann shot a 77 and finished in third place. Jadee Mattheis shot a 90 and Jayden Bormann had a 91 for Parkston, which scored 328 points as a team. Host Vermillion was second, nine strokes back as a team.

Madison's Samantha Langford was second individually, shooting a 75. Caitlyn Stimpson was the low-scorer for Wagner, shooting a 99. The Red Raiders did not score as a team.
