This week’s snow storm is forcing many basketball classics to cancel or change its schedule.

The Parkston Classic has been cut to one day, with Friday’s boys games being cancelled. Area teams include Menno, Mount Vernon/Plankinton, McCook Central/Montrose, Corsica-Stickney, Canistota, Platte-Geddes and Parkston. Saturday’s girls games are on as scheduled.

Friday’s girls high school basketball games in the Huron Holiday Classic have been canceled, as well, which included Sanborn Central/Woonsocket. Saturday’s boys games are still expected to be played. Area games include Lyman facing Howard at 11:30 a.m., Ethan taking on Faulkton Area at 2:30 p.m. and Sanborn Central/Woonsocket playing Rapid City Christian at 4 p.m.

The East-West Classic in Chamberlain has been canceled, too. The Winner and Ethan girls basketball teams were scheduled to play.

The Swiftel Center Classic has revised its Friday schedule, starting with girls games of Arlington vs. Wheaton (Minn.) at 2 p.m., Tiospa Zina vs. Howard at 3:30 p.m. and Viborg-Hurley against Lake Preston at 5 p.m. The lone boys game between Deuel and Viborg-Hurley is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
