WAGNER - It went to the wire in Wagner Saturday, but Winner Area pulled out the Region 3B wrestling team championship.

The Warriors used a championship pin from Kayleb Brozik at 170 pounds to help propel them past Bon Homme/Scotland for the team title with 138 points. Bon Homme/Scotland was second with 134 points and Parkston-which had a tournament-best four individual champions-was third with 129 points.

"We started slow and that's what forced us to play some catch up later in the tournament," Winner Area coach Spencer Novotny said. "Once we got going, we started getting the bonus points and the wins we needed but we didn't perform at our best today."

Kaden Keiser (106) finished in second place, while Atlas Willuweit (120), Trevor Peters (126), Avery Gilchrist (152) and Tre`zen Doren (285) finished third, while Jayden Schroeder was fourth at 220 pounds.
