Depth has been a key to success for Winner High School's boys' and girls' track teams in region competition.
Head coach Dan Aaker said the two Winner squads won the team titles at the Region 7A track and field meet Thursday in Mission.
Team results were not available when this edition went to press, but Aaker said the two squads won by large margins.
Aaker said the girls' team has won the region meet four consecutive years and the boys' team's streak goes longer than that.
"There's no question that in our region it's a numbers game," he said. "We have more athletes and that really helps score those team points. Those thirds, fourths and fifths add up in the team standings."

Winner also had several top finishers to help the team standings.
Donovan Brother of All and Dayna Diez both won three individual events Thursday.
Brother of All won the boys' 800- 1,600- and 3,200- meter runs.
Diez finished first in the girls' triple jump, 100- and 300-meter hurdles.
"We expect her to perform at that level," Aaker said.
"As a team, we had a lot of personal bests," he added. "We should be peaking at this time of year. We performed the way we expected and I'm happy with the outcome."
Cassidy Hanson also won multiple individual events for Winner. She swept the girls' throwing events, winning the shot put with a throw of 33-feet, 3.25 inches and the discus with a throw of 108-feet-3.5.
Other Winner athletes to win individual events were Tanner Fritz, Isaiah Old Lodge and Austin Richey.

Fritz won the boys' 200-meter dash with a time of 23.09 seconds.
Old Lodge recorded a jump of 19-feet-2 inches to win the boys' long jump and Richey's throw of 49-feet-11 was good for first in the boys' shot put.
Four relay teams won their events for the Warriors.
The boys' 1,600-meter relay team took first while the girls won the 800-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter relays.
By the end of the day 22 Winner athletes had qualified for the state tournament.
"Our three goals for a season are to win our conference, our region and qualify as many as we can for state," Aaker said. "It's nice to see we're going to have 22 continue at state."
