The Dakota Wesleyan volleyball team won back-to-back games at home in the Gordon and Carol Fosness Arena Sept. 17-18.
On Sept. 17, the Tigers (13-1, GPAC 3-0) swept York in three straight sets, 25-11, 25-14 and 25-16. The following night, DWU beat Great Plains Athletic Conference opponent Morningside in three sets, 25-9, 25-18 and 27-25.
In a sweep over York, DWU didn’t allow the Panthers to notch 15 points in two of the three sets. Mackenzie Miller paced the Tigers with 15 kills. Ady Dwight had 11 kills for the Tigers while Hanna Reiff had 15 digs. Jadie DeLange had five kills and Dannielle Burns had five digs. Madeline Else added 30 assists and two ace serves.
Against Morningside, DWU held off the Mustangs in the second set and managed to come back down 24-22 in the third set. Tied at 25, a kill by Mariah Gloe and Abigail Brunsing, both assisted by Else, ended the game.
Dwight had 16 kills for the Tigers while Miller had 11 kills and three digs. Reiff had 19 digs and Gloe had seven digs, along with seven kills. Brunsing had five kills and Tya Weideman had six digs. Else added 37 assists and three ace serves.
DWU plays Dordt at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 21 in Sioux Center, Iowa.
