Sunshine Bible Academy won a three-set matchup to get its first win of the season over Mitchell Christian on Tuesday. Set scores were 25-18, 25-10 and 25-23.

Sunshine Bible Academy (1-1) was paced by Betra Amare’s 9 kills and 7 ace serves. Liza Konechne had 5 ace serves while Annaliese Van Zee had 5 kills. The Crusaders play Highmore-Harrold on Sept. 7.

Mitchell Christian (0-1) picked up 15 digs, 4 ace serves and 4 kills from Whisper Eben. Kelsey Holdeman had 7 digs while Keely O’Neill had 8 digs and 4 assists. The Golden Eagles host Dell Rapids St. Mary on Sept. 2.

Avon 3, Parkston 2

AVON -- Avon rallied back to beat Parkston in a five-set thriller Tuesday night to win its third match of the season. Set scores were 23-25, 17-25, 28-26, 26-24 and 17-15.

Avon (3-1): Tiffany Pelton had 24 kills and 12 digs while Courtney Sees had 12 kills and 20 assists. McKenna Kocmich added 28 assists and 15 digs. Katie Gretschmann led the team with 33 digs while Sam Brodeen had 23 digs and 8 kills. Avon hosts Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Sept. 2.

Parkson (1-5): Mya Nuebel had 14 kills and 21 digs while Brielle Bruening had 13 kills and 10 digs. Allison Ziebart led the team with 37 digs while Faith Oakley had 20 assists. Avery Bogenreif chipped in with 13 assists. The Trojans host Hanson on Sept. 2.

Bridgewater-Emery 3, Howard 0

HOWARD -- Bridgewater-Emery picked up it’s straight victory Tuesday, winning 25-15, 25-9 and 25-12.

Bridgewater-Emery (3-0): Julia Weber had 15 kills and 3 ace serves in the winning effort, with Taylor Schallenkamp adding 11 kills and Chloe Schmitt having 10 kills. Kaitlyn Roskens had a team-high 17 assists while Casey Meyer 16 assists and 2 ace serves. Cava Meyer had 12 digs and Julia Weber 9 digs. The Huskies travel to Wessington Springs on Sept. 2

Howard (1-2): Emma Rudebusch had 3 kills and five assists. Piper Thompson had 11 digs while Katlin Schlim had 8 digs. Kate Connor added 7 kills and Rylee Rudebusch added 5 kills. Howard travels to Freeman on Sept. 2.

Chester Area 3, McCook Central/Montrose 1

MONTROSE -- Chester Area won its third straight volleyball match on Tuesday with a win over McCook Central/Montrose. Set scores were 25-13, 23-25, 25-10 and 25-21.

Chester Area (5-2): Lily VanHal had 20 digs, 25 assists and 8 kills while Serena Larson had 9 kills. Emery Larson notched 28 digs while Carly Becker had 18 assists. The Flyers travel to Baltic on Sept. 7.

McCook Central/Montrose (1-4): Abby Roling led the team with 19 digs while Michaela McCormick had 8 kills and 9 digs. Briana Even added 20 assists and 3 ace serves. The Fighting Cougars travel to Parker on Sept. 2.

Kimball/White Lake 3, Ethan 2

WHITE LAKE -- Kimball/White Lake earned a home victory Tuesday night, claiming a back-and-forth five-set match. Set scores were 23-25, 25-15, 23-25, 25-18 and 15-8.

Kimball/White Lake (1-1): Dani Deffenbaugh had 28 kills, 18 digs and 5 ace serves to lead the WildKats. Ryann Nielsen had 48 assists, 18 digs and 10 kills while Harley Namanny had 20 digs, 10 kills and 10 assists. Madison Heath led the team with 40 digs. Kimball/White Lake travels to Burke on Sept. 2.

Ethan (0-2): Ava Lingemann had 9 assists and 4 kills while Emiley Hoffman had 8 kills. Tayla Schmidt added 6 digs for the Rustlers and Hannah Bartscher added 5 blocks.

Mount Vernon/Plankinton 3, Wagner 1

WAGNER -- Mount Vernon/Plankinton picked up its third win of the season with a four-set victory over Wagner on Tuesday. Set scores were 25-19, 25-21, 18-25 and 25-13.

Mount Vernon/Plankinton (3-0): Maria Baker had 15 kills while Reagan Rus had 12 kills. Jocelyn Manzano had 36 digs and Shyla Tobin led the Titans with 6 ace serves and 24 assists. Mount Vernon/Plankinton travels to Bon Homme on Sept. 2.

Wagner (4-2): Shalayne Nagel had 12 kills and 16 digs while Kya Kjeldgaard had 9 kills. Emma Yost added 21 digs and Macy Koupal had 15 digs and 30 assists. Wagner travels to Chamberlain on Sept. 2.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour 3, Menno 0

MENNO -- Tripp-Delmont/Armour won a road volleyball match Tuesday over Menno. Set scores were 25-13, 25-21 and 25-15.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour (3-0): Hannah Stremick had 31 assists and 11 digs while Gracey Schatz had 14 kills, 9 digs and 2 blocks. Megan Reiner posted 12 kills and 6 digs, Emma Fink had 12 digs and Emma Faller added 9 digs and 5 ace serves. Tripp-Delmont/Armour plays Avon on Sept. 7.

Menno (3-2): Menno got 9 digs and 7 assists from Paityn Huber, as the Wolves had 4 digs, 5 assists, and 3 kills from Grace Nusz. Julia Buechler had a team-high 11 digs while Madelyn Kludt had 7 digs, Raygen Diede 6 digs and Halle VanHove had 5 digs. Bridget Vaith added 5 kills and 2 blocks. Menno plays Freeman Academy/Marion on Sept. 2

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket 3, Hanson 0

ALEXANDRIA -- Sanborn Central/Woonsocket earned a road victory for its second volleyball win of the season on Tuesday. Set scores were 25-15, 25-16 and 25-20.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (3-1): Teya Moody had 20 assists, 3 ace serves and 18 digs while Hannah Dickson had 16 digs and Trista White added 16 digs, 4 ace serves and 8 kills. Kenna Ochsner had 9 kills and Brooke Doering had 8 kills. Ellie Evans had a team-high 5 ace serves. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket travels to Ethan on Sept. 2.

Hanson (1-3): Jalyn Kamshoff had 34 assists and 13 digs while Annalyse Weber had 7 digs and 6 kills. Skylar Holm added 15 digs and Erin Dewald had 5 kills. Hanson plays Parkston on Sept. 2.

Winner 3, Burke 2

BURKE -- Powered by Ellie Brozik’s 18 kills, 15 digs and four aces, Winner earned a hard-fought victory Tuesday in high school volleyball action. Set scores were 18-25, 25-17, 25-15, 23-25 and 15-9.

Winner (3-0): Alexis Klein had 24 digs and 36 assists while Libbie Petersek had 18 digs and 12 kills.Jenna Hammerbeck had 10 kills and 15 digs for the Warriors. Winner hosts Valentine, Neb. on Sept. 2.

Burke (1-1): Elle Johnson had 42 digs while Kailee Frank had 36 digs and 7 ace serves. Adisyn Indahl had 29 digs and 15 kills. Paige Bull added 6 blocks and Elly Witt had 10 assists. Burke hosts Kimball/White Lake on Sept. 2.
