The Mitchell High School volleyball team set the program record for digs in a match on Tuesday.
The Kernels racked up 139 digs in their five-set match loss against Brookings at home. They broke the previous record of 138, which was set in 2002 and tied in 2008.
Sarah Sebert led the way with 38 digs, which was also three away from the school record for most digs in a match. Sebert was one of four players to record 20 or more digs on Tuesday. Amy Uher finished with 33 digs and Katy Sebert added 25. Regan Waddell finished with 20.
Mitchell (3-15) plays at Yankton on Oct. 15.
