SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- After splitting the first two sets, Dakota Wesleyan University dropped a pair of close sets against Briar Cliff University on Wednesday.

The Tigers lost the Great Plains Athletic Conference match 25-23, 16-25, 26-24 and 25-21.

After the Chargers edged DWU in the first set, the Tigers pounded out 15 kills and committed just two errors to spark a dominating second-set victory. But DWU committed 11 attacking errors in the third set as Briar Cliff pulled ahead, 2-1.

In the fourth set, the Chargers put down 17 kills as they nipped the Tigers to complete the match.

The Tigers (10-2, 0-2 GPAC) received 12 kills and 15 digs from Rebecca Frick. Jadie DeLange added 10 kills. Mallory Cooper finished with 22 digs, while Bridgett Knobbe had 25 assists and 12 digs. Brittany Berquist had five block assists, while Emily Brunsing finished with four block assists.

Dakota Wesleyan hosts No. 13 Jamestown University at 3 p.m. on Saturday at the Christen Athletic Center.
