After a close first set, Dell Rapids St. Mary cruised to a road win on Thursday against Mitchell Christian. Set scores were 25-21, 25-9, 25-11.

Dell Rapids St. Mary (3-0): Ella Heinitz served eight aces to go with 11 assists, five digs and two kills. Tyra Harrington and Maya Heinitz added seven and six aces, respectively. Macie Brown and Courtney Brown both finished with six kills, while Ella Griffin dished out a team-high seven assists. The Cardinals play in the Estelline/Hendricks tournament on Saturday in Estelline.

Mitchell Christian (1-1): Kaitlyn Tegethoff finished with five kills, two digs and two blocks for the Golden Eagles. Anna Cooper recorded three kills, three blocks and an ace, while Whisper Eben finished with five digs, three kills and an ace. Erica Thompson had a team-high seven assists. The Golden Eagles travel to Wessington Springs on Tuesday.

Parkston 3, Hanson 0

PARKSTON -- Izzy Hohn recorded her 1,000th career assist in the third set as Parkston swept Hanson, 25-14, 26-24 and 25-16. Hohn finished with 33 assists and eight digs in the match.

Parkston (4-4): Maggie Baumgart had 12 kills, while Amber Albrecht had 10 kills and 13 digs and Sydney Wickersham had nine kills and nine digs. The Trojans play Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Tuesday in New Holland.

Hanson (2-3): Morgan Huber had four kills and 12 digs and Josie Bartscher added a team-high six kills. Jada Tuttle and Hanna Robinson also chipped in 11 and 10 digs, respectively. The Beavers play Howard on Tuesday in Alexandria.

Wagner 3, Chamberlain 0

CHAMBERLAIN -- Wagner swept Chamberlain on Thursday to pick up its fourth prep volleyball win of the season. Set scores were 25-23, 25-19, 25-20.

Wagner (4-2): Emilea Cimpl recorded 29 assists and four aces in the win, while Lizzie Tyler added 12 kills, 10 digs and three aces. Kayli Kocer served four aces and had three blocks, while Abby Brunsing recorded 12 kills. The Red Raiders play Platte-Geddes on Tuesday in Platte.

Chamberlain (2-1): Hannah Anderson finished with 11 kills and four blocks for the Cubs. Taylor Toering dished out 13 assists, Chynna Story recorded eight digs and Maggy Pickner served two aces in the loss. The Cubs play in the Gregory tournament on Saturday.

Canistota 3, Oldham-Ramona/Rutland 0

CANISTOTA -- Canistota evened its record at 3-3 with a three-set victory over Oldham-Ramona/Rutland in prep volleyball action on Thursday. Set scores were 25-16, 25-11 and 25-16.

Canistota (3-3): Skylar Bultje finished with 10 kills, while Kenzy Krinke notched eight kills, six digs and four aces. Hannah Parry added 10 assists, nine digs and five aces. Mykkah Krinke finished with nine kills and six digs. Harley Cormany posted six digs and three kills. The Hawks play Viborg-Hurley on Tuesday in Viborg.

Oldham-Ramona/Rutland (0-3): Rylie Aschmeller had nine kills and eight digs. Khloe Tieman had 11 assists and Kylie Anderson finished with 15 digs. The Raiders play in the Flandreau tournament on Saturday.

Freeman 3, Howard 0

FREEMAN -- Freeman was able to earn a sweep on Howard in three tight sets, 25-19, 25-22 and 25-20, in Cornbelt Conference play.

Freeman (4-1): Emily Miller recorded 19 kills and two blocks, while Rijjy Peterson pitched in 11 digs, nine kills and three blocks. Oddy Pankratz also had six kills and Cara Maske handed out 30 assists. The Flyers host Centerville on Tuesday.

Howard (2-2): Madison Kizer had 13 kills, while Emma Rudebusch had 11 kills and 11 assists. The Tigers play Hanson on Tuesday in Alexandria.

Bridgewater-Emery 3, Wessington Springs 0

WESSINGTON SPRINGS -- Bridgewater-Emery swept Wessington Springs in straight sets in a prep volleyball match on Thursday. Set scores were 25-14, 25-18 and 26-24.

Bridgewater-Emery (2-1): Haley Schulz led the Huskies with nine kills and three blocks. Sophia Potter and Kerrigan Schultz had 16 and 12 assists, respectively. Schultz and Julia Weber both had three aces. Julia Weber and Cara Meyer had nine and eight digs, respectively. Kennedee Weber had five kills. The Huskies play Menno on Tuesday in Emery.

Wessington Springs (1-2): Grace Gran and Makayla Dornbusch had seven and five kills, respectively. Dornbusch had 11 digs and Gran added two blocks. Alyssa Grohs had six assists and Cheyenne Berg added three aces. The Spartans host Mitchell Christian on Tuesday.

AVON -- Avon jumped out to an early lead on Andes Central/Dakota Christian for a Little Missouri Conference sweep, 25-17, 25-20 and 25-19.

Avon (3-2): Madisyn Cameron had 14 assists and 12 digs, while Tiffany Pelton had seven kills. Maddie Kocmich also had six kills and six digs and Katie Gretschmann came up with 21 digs. The Pirates play Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Tuesday in Tripp.

Andes Central/Dakota Christian (2-3): Melanie Mudder had 21 digs, while Mackenzie Muckey had six kills and 12 digs. The Thunder play Parkston on Tuesday in New Holland.

Corsica-Stickney 3, Centerville 0

CORSICA -- Corsica-Stickney cruised past Centerville for a straight set win on Thursday in prep volleyball action. Set scores were 25-13, 25-16, 25-23.

Corsica-Stickney (2-0): Raven Barse stuffed the stat sheet with 21 digs, six blocks, five kills and an ace for the Jaguars. Morgan DeLange served a team-high seven aces to go with five kills. Marisa DeLane added 11 assists and seven digs, while Paige Wright finished with 16 digs and three aces. Carly Lagge added 12 digs. The Jaguars play Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Tuesday in Woonsocket.

Centerville (0-2): Sophie Eide had 14 digs, three aces and two blocks in the loss. Mya Bendt added eight digs and three kills. Mackenzie Meyer and Haley Meyer both finished with four kills, while Haley added eight digs, three blocks and two aces. The Tornadoes travel to Freeman on Tuesday.

ETHAN -- Ethan breezed past Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Thursday for a Custer Battlefield Highway Conference win, 25-20, 25-16 and 25-20.

Ethan (2-1): Jada Plastow had 11 kills and 14 digs and Cameryn Logan had nine kills and a match-high 18 digs. Bella Nesheim chipped in seven kills, while Jessica Bartscher dished out 32 assists and served up five aces. The Rustlers host Mount Vernon/Plankinton on Tuesday.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (1-4): Brooke Doering had six kills and Cassidy Slykhuis chipped in six kills in defeat. Kaylee White also had eight digs and Morgan Schmiedt had eight assists. The Blackhawks play Corsica-Stickney on Tuesday in Woonsocket.

Mount Vernon/Plankinton 3, Bon Homme 0

TYNDALL -- Mount Vernon/Plankinton knocked off Bon Homme in straight sets in a high school volleyball match on Thursday. Set scores were 25-10, 25-16 and 25-17.

Mount Vernon/Plankinton (2-1): Katlyn Briggs finished with seven kills, seven digs and five blocks. Dacey Rihanek chipped in with five kills. Reagan Klooz recorded 10 assists, five digs and four aces. The Titans travel to Ethan on Tuesday.

Bon Homme (1-3): Abby Crites led the Cavaliers with five kills and 11 digs. Johanna Jelsma added 11 digs and six assists. Jenae Alberts recorded five digs and three aces. Makayla Kelley contributed nine digs. The Cavaliers travel to Vermillion on Tuesday.

BURKE -- Burke captured its third consecutive win to start the season in a sweep of Kimball/White Lake on Thursday, 25-14, 25-22 and 25-14.

Burke (3-0): Taylee Indahl had 15 kills, nine digs and two blocks, while Bobbi Jo Wischmann had 16 assists. Lainee Schonebaum and Sally Hakin had 11 digs apiece. The Cougars travel to Chamberlain on Tuesday.

Kimball/White Lake (0-3): Grace Konechne and Kennedy Leiferman had seven and six kills, respectively. Madison Heath had 18 digs and Ryann Nielsen handed out 13 assists and served three aces. Dani Deffenbaugh also had 13 assists. The WiLdKats play Tripp-Delmont/Armour on Sept. 12 in Armour.

Parker 3, McCook Central/Montrose 1

PARKER -- Class A No. 5 Parker topped No. 3 McCook Central/Montrose in a match between two ranked prep volleyball teams on Thursday. Set scores were 25-18, 17-25, 25-15, 25-23

Parker (4-0): Brooke Berens led the Pheasants with 12 kills and four blocks. Sydney Berens added eight kills and four blocks. Breana Jensen posted 15 digs, while Cierra Mohr finished with 14 assists and 10 digs.

McCook Central/Montrose (5-2): MCM received 12 kills apiece by Jacy Pulse and Aleah Ries. Pulse added seven digs and two aces, while Ries recorded 17 digs. Cassy Knudsen posted 11 digs. Maggie Miles finished with 15 assists and eight digs. The Fighting Cougars play Sioux Valley on Tuesday in Salem.
