WHITE LAKE -- Ethan picked up its first win of the season, sweeping Kimball/White Lake in three sets in prep volleyball action on Tuesday.

The Rustlers controlled the first set, but had to pull out a pair of tight wins over the WiLdKats in the final two, 25-16, 25-21 and 25-22.

Ethan (1-1): Cameryn Logan had a match-high 10 kills and three blocks. Jada Plastow pitched in eight kills, five blocks and two aces, while Jessica Bartscher handed out 23 assists and served up two aces. The Rustlers host Sanborn Central/Woonsocket on Thursday.

Kimball/White Lake (0-2): Grace Konechne recorded seven kills and 16 digs, while Kennedy Leiferman had six kills and nine digs. Dani Deffenbaugh also pitched in 10 assists and two aces. The WiLdKats play Burke on Thursday in Bonesteel.

Mitchell Christian 3, Sunshine Bible Academy 1

Mitchell Christian opened its season by winning the first two sets, before finishing off Sunshine Bible Academy in four, 25-21, 25-23, 16-25 and 25-18.

Mitchell Christian (1-0): Anna Cooper had seven kills, while Whisper Eben had five kills, five aces and six digs. Kaitlyn Tegethoff added five kills and three aces and Erica Thompson had nine assists, five digs and three aces. The Golden Eagles host Dell Rapids St. Mary on Thursday.

Sunshine Bible Academy (0-2): Abby Haun had 21 assists and 14 digs in defeat, while Beth Konechne had eight kills, six digs and four aces. Shariah Brockel added seven kills and Dori Brockel had 22 digs. The Crusaders host Highmore-Harrold on Sept. 10 in Miller.

MCM 3, Chester Area 0

MONTROSE -- Class A No. 3 McCook Central/Montrose cruised past Class B No. 3 Chester Area in three sets, 25-19, 25-17 and 25-21.

McCook Central/Montrose (5-1): Jacy Pulse had a match-high 10 kills and came up with 19 digs, while Emily Bies added 13 assists, seven digs and six kills. Aleah Ries also had nine kills and seven digs, while Maggie Miles had 18 assists. Abigail Van Ruler had five aces, four kills and four blocks. The Fighting Cougars travel to Parker on Thursday.

Chester Area (2-1): Ella Pry had seven kills and Breckyn Ewoldt had six, while Makenna Larson came up with 20 digs. Bri Backus and Tiffany Mohr had 14 digs apiece. The Flyers play at Baltic on Sept. 10.

Parkston 3, Avon 0

AVON -- Parkston swept Avon in straight sets in a prep volleyball match on Tuesday. Set scores were 28-26, 25-17 and 25-11.

Parkston (2-4): Maggie Baumgart finished with 14 kills, while Amber Albrecht had 10 kills and six digs in the win. Sydney Wickersham added seven kills and five digs. Izzy Hohn recorded 25 assists. Parkston hosts Hanson on Thursday.

Avon (2-2): Shalayne Nagel and Tiffany Pelton led the Pirates with eight kills apiece. Katie Gretschmann added 15 digs. Madisyn Cameron added 21 assists and 13 digs. Maddie Kocmich finished with eight digs. Avon plays Andes Central/Dakota Christian on Thursday.

AC/DC 3, Bon Homme 1

TYNDALL -- Andes Central/Dakota Christian jumped out to a two-set lead on Bon Homme and came away with a win, 25-17, 27-25, 20-25 and 26-24.

Andes Central/Dakota Christian (2-2): Mackenzie Muckey had eight kills, while Isabel Pheifer added six kills and three aces. Allie Muckey had five assists and seven aces and Lexie VanderPol had five kills. The Thunder travel to Avon on Thursday.

Bon Homme (1-2): Johanna Jelsma handed out 11 assists, came up with six digs and served three aces. Jenae Alberts had 15 digs, while Ciera Himes pitched in six kills and nine digs. The Cavaliers host Mount Vernon/Plankinton on Thursday in Tyndall.

Burke 3, Winner 0

BONESTEEL -- Tylee Indahl registered 26 kills, eight digs and four blocks as Burke blanked Winner, 25-21, 25-19 and 25-23.

Burke (3-0): Lainee Schonebaum also added six kills and 10 digs, while Bobbi Jo Wischmann handed out 30 assists. Adisyn Indahl pitched in 10 digs and three blocks. The Cougars host Kimball/White Lake on Thursday in Bonesteel.

Winner (1-2): Ellie Brozik had 16 kills and 18 digs in defeat, while Kalla Bertram had nine kills and Addy Root had 11 assists and 15 digs. Maggie LaCompte added 15 digs and Mackenzie Levi had 18 assists. The Warriors host Valentine, Nebraska and Ainsworth, Nebraska in a triangular on Thursday.

Gayville-Volin 3, Canistota 1

CANISTOTA -- Canistota won the first set on Tuesday against Gayville-Volin, but the Raiders scored wins in the next three to take the match, 22-25, 27-25, 25-13 and 25-20.

Gayville-Volin (4-0): Samantha Olson had 11 kills, while Lily Hunsley added 10. Molly Larson came up with 48 digs, while Keeley Larson had 34 assists. The Raiders play Alcester-Hudson on Thursday in Alcester.

Canistota (2-2): Harley Cormany had six kills and 13 digs and Kenzy Krinke had five aces in defeat. The Hawks host Oldham-Ramona/Rutland on Thursday.

TDA 3, Menno 0

MENNO -- All three sets were decided by four points or less, but Tripp-Delmont/Armour was able to nip Menno in each one, 25-21, 25-21 and 25-22.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour (1-1): Hope Neugebauer had seven kills, while Kianna Payer added six kills and five digs. Ally Bertram had 10 digs and Bailey Spaans added eight assists. The Nighthawks host Avon on Sept. 10 in Tripp.

Menno (1-1): Jesse Munkvold had 11 digs, four kills and four aces, while Trinity Kocourek had 11 digs and Kaylie Schempp had 12 digs. The Wolves host Freeman Academy/Marion on Thursday.

Chamberlain 3, Stanley County 1

FORT PIERRE -- Chamberlain got 19 kills from Hannah Anderson in a four-set win over Stanley County, 25-22, 25-15, 24-26 and 25-10.

Chamberlain (2-0): Maggy Pickner had 14 kills, while Mya Knippling had 13 kills and Taylor Toering added 33 assists and 12 digs. The Cubs host Wagner on Thursday.

Stanley County (1-2): No statistics were provided for Stanley County. The Buffaloes play Timber Lake on Saturday in Fort Pierre.

Hanson 3, SCW 1

ALEXANDRIA -- Despite a hiccup in the third set, Hanson was able to topple Sanborn Central/Woonsocket in four sets, 25-23, 25-15, 14-25 and 25-21.

Hanson (2-2): Josie Bartscher had six kills and four blocks, while Elizabeth Arend added six kills and Hanna Robinson pitched in 17 digs. Abby Kortan also had 12 assists and four kills. The Beavers travel to Parkston on Thursday.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket (1-3): Cassidy Slykhuis had 11 kills, while Taryn Ziebart had 12 assists and 12 digs in defeat. Kaylee White also pitched in 18 digs and three aces. The Blackhawks travel to Ethan on Thursday.
