The South Dakota All-Star Volleyball match was held Sunday at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls and five local players led the South squad to a five-set victory over the North, 25-21, 16-25, 25-19, 25-27 and 15-11.

Wagner senior Faith Tyler recorded seven kills and seven digs, while Mitchell's Chelsea Brewster and McCook Central/Montrose's McKenna Kranz had six kills apiece.

Mitchell's Mandy Schmidt also had a big day, with a team-high 19 assists to go along with 12 digs. Schmidt-Mitchell's all-time leader in assists-also won the setter challenge between all four setters in the all-star game.

Mitchell's Deb Thill served as the head coach for the South squad, while Wagner's Amy Tyler served as the assistant.
