Here are some of the top volleyball performers from this past weekend. Look for this regular feature in future Tuesday editions of The Daily Republic:

Taylee Indahl and Lahna Matucha, Burke

The two outside hitters for Burke -- junior Taylee Indahl and senior Lahna Matucha -- combined for 21 kills, 20 digs and nine aces to help sweep Tripp-Delmont/Armour in three sets on Saturday. The win not only marked No. 20 on the season for the Cougars, but it was their 15th consecutive victory after starting the season 5-5.

Faith Tyler, Wagner

The 5-foot-8 senior earned most valuable player in Wagner’s win over Deubrook Area in the Chester Challenge on Saturday. The Red Raiders posted a clean sweep of the Dolphins despite all three matches being high-scoring, 25-23, 27-25 and 25-21. Tyler notched a match-high 16 kills to go along with 14 digs in the win.

Brianna Deurmier, AC/DC

The senior setter is proving to be a do-it-all player for the Thunder, particularly after Deurmier recorded 26 assists, 16 digs and four kills in Andes Central/Dakota Christian’s three-set sweep of Platte-Geddes on Saturday, 25-23, 25-18 and 25-19. Deurmier notched more assists by herself than the Black Panthers -- who had won three matches in a row coming in -- had as a team.

Morgan Hammerbeck, Winner

The 5-foot-11 junior outside hitter was a terror for Class A No. 3 Winner in its 3-1 (25-14, 22-25, 25-16, 25-19) victory over Arlington on Saturday in the Chester Challenge. Hammerbeck recorded 27 digs and 13 kills and was named most valuable player in the match. The Warriors have now won nine in a row as an Oct. 16 match with Wagner looms.
