The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team continued its undefeated season on Saturday.

The Tigers topped Montana Western (3-2) and Dickinson State University (3-0) during the final day of the Corn Palace Classic.

DWU defeated Montana Western 20-25, 25-16, 21-25, 25-17 and 15-11. The Tigers swept Dickinson State 25-20, 25-10 and 25-20. DWU is now 9-0 on the season.

Against Montana Western, the Tigers and Bulldogs traded the first four sets. In the fifth set, the Tigers pulled away from an 8-8 tie with a 7-3 spurt down the stretch.

Winner native Sydney Fritz recorded a career-high with 20 kills. Rebecca Frick had 25 kills and 16 digs and Lyman grad Sara Herman notched 31 digs. Setter Bridgett Knobbe dished out 53 assists.

In the final match of the weekend, DWU downed Dickinson State University in straight sets. Frick recorded 18 kills and 14 digs. Herman tallied 14 digs and Knobbe notched 38 assists in the contest.

On Friday, DWU defeated Sterling College (25-10, 25-13, 25-23) and Mayville State (27-25, 23-25, 25-9, 25-22).

Against Sterling, Frick had 17 kills and 10 digs, while Herman recorded 23 digs. Knobbe tallied 35 assists and seven digs. Mallory Cooper added 13 digs.

Against Mayville, Frick finished with 28 digs and 24 kills. Fritz tallied 12 kills and eight digs. Cooper finished with 29 digs.

The Tigers open up Great Plains Athletic Conference play against the University of Jamestown at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Corn Palace.
