Mike Mudder, of Tyndall, was named the South Dakota High School Coaches Association 2016 official of the year for the winter season.

The SDHSCA announced its winners for the winter and spring seasons on Thursday.

In the winter season, coaches of the year were: Madison's Maridee Dossett (gymnastics), Pierre's Shawn Lewis (wrestling), Aberdeen Central's Dawn Seiler (girls basketball), Sioux Falls Christian's Mike Schouten (boys basketball) and the athletic director of the year went to Webster's Bill Sawinsky.

For the spring season: coaches of the year were: Hamlin's Tim Koisti (boys golf), Yankton's Brett Sime (girls golf), St. Thomas More's Keiz Shultz (tennis), Watertown's Chad Rohde (boys track and field) and Chester Area's Misty Larson (girls track and field).

The coaches will be recognized at the annual banquet on July 12 at the Highland Conference Center in Mitchell.
