Two MEGA athletes take first in state youth meet

RAPID CITY--The MEGA gymnastics team competed in the South Dakota state championships over the weekend, with several athletes having standout performances.

RAPID CITY-The MEGA gymnastics team competed in the South Dakota state championships over the weekend, with several athletes having standout performances.

Abby Helleloid (36.575 points) won the Level 6 9-10-year-old division, while Tessa Jensen (36.900) did the same at the junior level of the Xcel Platinum division. Also in Level 6, Emily Moody recorded 36.700 points as she tied for first in the 13-and-older division, and Aubrey Gelderman (107.725) placed third among 12-year-olds.

Kaylee Bauder (35.325) took second among 13-14 year olds in Level 8. Tenley Jatczak finished third in the XCel Silver 7-8-year-old group.

Top-three finishes among MEGA teams included second in Level 6 (109.825), and third in both Level 7 (107.725) and Xcel Platinum (73.125).
