Two MAC swimmers win in Brookings

BROOKINGS--In the first summer swim meet on the season, two Mitchell Aquatic Club swimmers won their respective age groups at the Brookings High Point Invitational this weekend in Brookings.

BROOKINGS-In the first summer swim meet on the season, two Mitchell Aquatic Club swimmers won their respective age groups at the Brookings High Point Invitational this weekend in Brookings.

Karlie Tiede won the 17-18 girls age group by winning three events-the 50-meter freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 breaststroke. Tiede also took second in the the 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle and 200 individual medley.

Caleb Swanson won the 13-14 boys age group. Swanson won six events-the 100 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 800 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley.

Two MAC swimmers finished second in their age groups as Riley Kaul took second in the 11-12 boys division and Jordan Herein placed second in the 8 and under boys age group. Kaul won the 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle, while Herein took second in six events-50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley.

MAC will host the Corn Palace Invitational starting on Friday and concluding on Sunday at the Mitchell Aquatic Center in Mitchell.
