PARKSTON-Two runs in the fifth inning was all the Beresford high school baseball team needed in a 2-1 victory over Parkston on Monday in Parkston.

Beresford picked up their runs on RBI singles from Peter Cruz and Hunter Ingwerson, and received a dominating effort from pitcher Tyler Kropaenske. Kropaenske pitched a complete game, allowing one run (which was not earned) on two hits and struck out three batters.

Wes Genant took the loss on the mound for Parkston after throwing four innings and allowing one run on three hits while striking out two batters. Parkston scored its lone run by a Beresford error in the bottom of the sixth inning. Dawson Semmler and Alex Scott had the only two hits for Parkston.

Parkston (6-2) takes on Turner/Hutch at 6 p.m. on Wednesday in Freeman.
