Dillon Turner is in a league of his own.

The Dakota Wesleyan University senior quarterback had another outstanding performance in the Tigers' 63-24 win over Briar Cliff on Saturday at Joe Quintal Field.

Turner finished with 288 passing yards and five touchdowns. He also surpassed the 10,000-yard career passing mark in the contest and is the only player in school history to reach the plateau. Turner, who earlier this season became the school's career passing leader, now has 10,078 yards.

"It's obviously a team accomplishment," DWU coach Ross Cimpl said about the milestone. "But I tell you what, he's done everything possible to put himself in that position and there aren't enough superlatives to describe Dillon Turner and just his work ethic. The type of kid he is. The type of person he is. I am more than proud to say that he got that accomplishment."

The Salem, Arkansas, native set a goal for himself as a freshman to break the school record. He broke Jon Bane's previous record of 9,224 earlier this season.

"That was a milestone that I set and it's a goal that I was able to accomplish this year," Turner said. "I can't do it without my teammates. The O-linemen. The receivers and all the guys that have played with me in the past. It feels good to accomplish a goal that you set whenever you were a freshman coming in."

Turner's career stats are now 10,078 passing yards, 112 passing touchdowns, 3,052 rushing yards and 34 rushing touchdowns.
