A pair of Dakota Wesleyan University football players were named GPAC football players of the week for their efforts in Saturday's home win over Midland.
Quarterback Dillon Turner claimed the offensive player of the week honors, setting a career-high for passing yards with 446 yards completing 28-of-35 passes, while tossing two touchdowns, in the 55-21 win. Turner also ran for two touchdowns, claiming the offensive player of the week award for the second time this season.
Cameron Sorg was the special teams player of the week. Sorg, a freshman from Merritt Island, Florida, tallied his first touchdown in a Tiger uniform on a 73-yard punt return in the fourth quarter.
The Tigers, which climbed to No. 22 in this week's coaches poll, will travel to fourth-ranked Morningside Saturday for a 1:30 p.m. kickoff in Sioux City, Iowa.
