Dakota Wesleyan University’s Lydia Gerber won the long jump at the DWU Invitational on Friday. Gerber finished with a leap of 17-6.25. Gerber also took second in the 60-meter dash in 8.37 seconds. In the 800-meter run, Tessa Kilber finished in 2:39.78 minutes, good for second place.
Morgan Oedekoven took second in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 21:25.44 minutes. Her time moved her to seventh in the program top-10 list.
DWU’s Morgan Taft (49-2.25) and Darby Deffenbaugh (43-5) finished first and second, respectively, in the weight throw.
Macey Bohl recorded a second-place finish in the mile (6:18.29). A pair of Tigers took top-three placements in the shot put, as Lila Gronseth (36-2) finished in second and Katlyn Briggs (34-10.25) took third.
In the throwing ring on the men’s side, Chris Zanotto won the weight throw with a mark of 47-10.75. DWU throwers Caden Milmine (49-10) and Ryan Kienzle (43-8.75) claimed the top two spots in the shot put.
Wyatt Baldauf posted a personal best of 17:13.18 minutes in the 5,000-meter run. Benjamin Heyd finished third in the 60-meter dash in :7.2 seconds. In the 60-meter dash, Austin Hughes tallied a sixth-place performance with a mark of :7.25 seconds. Heyd moved into sixth place all-time in the 60-meter dash in program history, while Hughes is now situated at number seven all-time.
Both teams will compete next at the Dordt Invitational on Saturday in Sioux Center, Iowa.
