Dakota Wesleyan University senior Kamber Lamer was named the Great Plains Athletic Conference track and field athlete of the week for field events.

Lamer leads the NAIA in the women's heptathlon and put forth a personal best performance of 5,001 points at the Red Raider Open on Friday and Saturday.

She won the high jump (5 feet, 3 3/4 inches), shot put (36-0.75), long jump (18-3.75) and javelin throw (138-9). Lamer also took second in the 100-meter hurdles (14.88 seconds) and 200-meter dash (25.98).

DWU competed in the Drake Relays on Wednesday and continues through Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.
