SIOUX CITY, Iowa-The Sioux City Relays were cut from a two-day event to one, but a pair of Dakota Wesleyan University track and field athletes scored victories on Saturday.

Winner native Samantha Schuyler won the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing with a time of 12:17.61, besting Morningside's Tenna Beel by nearly 16 seconds.

Meanwhile, Lydia Gerber captured first place in the triple jump. Gerber recorded a jump of 35-9.5, while also placing fourth in the long jump at 15-11.75. Teammate Clair Stoller finished in third place in the triple jump with a jump of 34-1.25.

Tyson Jenkins was second in the shot put with a heave of 54-4.5. Jared Rabenberg was third in the high jump at 6-3.5, while Mason Small took third in the triple jump (41-1.75) and fifth in the long jump (20-7).

Woonsocket native Rex Schlicht placed 10th in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 59.23 seconds.

DWU is scheduled to compete in Northwestern College's Red Raider Open on Wednesday and Thursday in Orange City, Iowa.
