Three DWU softball players to join Team Manitoba in summer

Dakota Wesleyan University softball players Hailey Unger and Jill Dickson, along with incoming junior college transfer Danielle Klassen -- a 2014 recruit -- have been selected to compete for Team Manitoba this summer at the Canada Summer Games.

The games are Aug. 2-9 in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

Dickson has pitched 78.1 innings, thrown nine complete games and has a record of 3-10 on the mound this season.

Unger leads the Tigers in batting average with a .414 with 24 hits, including nine doubles. Klassen, currently plays third base for Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kan.

Carney to speak at Quarterback Club

South Dakota High School Activities Association Ex-ecutive Director Wayne Carney will speak at the Mitchell Quarterback Club meeting at 7:30 p.m. at The Depot in Mitchell.

Also speaking at the meeting is Augustana College baseball coach Tim Huber and Dakota Wesleyan Uni-versity baseball coach Steve Gust. The seniors on Gust's team will also attend the meeting.
