The Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team split a Great Plains Athletic Conference doubleheader with Hastings on Tuesday at Cadwell Park in Mitchell.
DWU won the first game 4-1 and dropped the second game 9-4.
In game one, the Tigers used a four-run sixth inning to reclaim the lead. Neil Nagle had a triple and two RBIs, while Dominic Sebastiani and Jonah Johnson each added RBIs in the win.
Patrick Whetham picked up the win on the mound for DWU. Whetham allowed one run off eight hits in six innings pitched with five strikeouts. William Lutjen earned his third save of the year by pitching a scoreless seventh inning.
In game two, Gavin Reichmuth took the loss by allowing eight runs off 11 hits in five and one third innings pitched. Nagle, Sebastiani, Johnson and Austin Calhoon each had RBIs in the loss.

DWU (21-18, 6-6 GPAC) plays Jamestown in a non-conference game at 3 p.m. today in Redfield.
