SIOUX CITY, Iowa -- The Dakota Wesleyan University soccer teams failed to score on Saturday at Morningside (Iowa). The Mustangs notched a 5-0 victory on both the men’s (1-3-2) and women’s (3-3) side against the Tigers.
Against the men, Morningsde’s Okan Golge scored twice in the first half, while Moritz Lusch, Nolan Aniser both netted one to give the Mustangs a 4-0 halftime lead. Lusch scored his second goal of the match in the second half as Morningside had a 23-6 shot advantage.
The women were outshot 26-8 as five different Mustangs scored. Makenzie Homan, Logan Abernathy, Cassandra Garcia, Samantha O’Roy and Merel Kooij each scored against Hannah Bowes, who saved five shots for the Tigers. Alondra Partida had a team-high four shots on goal for DWU.
The Tigers host Presentation on Wednesday, with the women starting at 5 p.m. and the men at 7:30 p.m.
