Tiger volleyball easily sweeps at Waldorf


FOREST CITY, Iowa — The Dakota Wesleyan University volleyball team picked up a non-conference victory Friday night, sweeping at Waldorf in convincing fashion and improving to 17-6 on the season. The victory was DWU's third in its last four matches, while the set scores were 25-19, 25-23 and 25-19.

Becky Frick posted 22 kills and hit .364 for the match on the attack. She also had 14 digs, as one of five DWU players with at least 10 digs in the match that lasted 76 minutes. Emily Brunsing added seven kills, while Jadie DeLange had six kills and three blocks. Bridgett Knobbe had 34 set assists and 10 digs, while Mariah Gloe added 12 digs of her own.

DWU set the pace in the match, hitting a strong .379 for an attack percentage in the first set. Waldorf had 20 hitting errors in the match.

The Tigers (17-6, 2-6 GPAC) return to conference play to face No. 22-ranked Dordt in Sioux Center, Iowa at 5 p.m. today in the midst of a four-game road swing.
