Tiger softball team swept at Midland

FREMONT, Neb. -- The Dakota Wesleyan University suffered a pair of extra inning walkoff defeats on Sunday against Great Plains Athletic Conference foe Midland University.

FREMONT, Neb. - The Dakota Wesleyan University suffered a pair of extra inning walkoff defeats on Sunday against Great Plains Athletic Conference foe Midland University.

The Tigers dropped the first game 3-2 and again 2-1 in the finale.

Alize Martinez, Melysia Ortega, Amber Budmark, Lorissa Loeppky, Elise Sutherland and Andriana Sprakel each had a hit in the first game. Martinez and Sierra Haage each drove in a run.

Martinez and Sprakel each had two hits in game two. Paige Kinley, Karly Severance and Budmark each had hits.

Haage pitched both games. She struck out eight batters in game one and five in game two.

DWU (17-30, 7-9) will play at Morningside College on Wednesday.
