The South Dakota Class A State Junior Legion tournament is set for Cadwell Park this week, with the eight-team field now in place for the five-day event.
The games will start at 11 a.m. Wednesday, as the Rapid City Post 22 Expos (34-18) will take on Brandon Valley (29-12), followed by Sioux Falls West (33-22) against Watertown (28-14). The second session of games begins at 5 p.m., with the Renner Post 307 Kings (26-11) against the Rapid City Post 320 Shooters (21-17). Mitchell (9-31) will take the field in the nightcap, battling Harrisburg (18-16).
Mitchell Post 18 qualified for the state tournament as the host team, while Watertown, Brandon Valley and Rapid City Post 320 won Regions 1A, 2A and 3A, respectively. Harrisburg won the play-in game between third-place teams from Regions 1A and
Thursday's sessions start at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., with the Post 22 Expos/Brandon Valley winner and Renner/Post 320 Shooters winner playing at 5 p.m., followed by the winners of Sioux Falls West/Watertown and Mitchell/Harrisburg playing in the second game on Thursday night.
Friday includes a pair of elimination games, starting at 3 p.m. The winner's bracket undefeated game will be played at about 7 p.m. Friday. Two games will be played starting at 5 p.m. Saturday, with the championship round set to begin at noon Sunday, with an if-necessary game to follow.

Junior Legion baseball is open to players ages 13 to 17 and each game consists of seven innings.
