YANKTON -- Tabor stayed perfect on the season with a 6-1 amateur baseball win over the Yankton Lakers on Wednesday in South Central League play.
Bryce Scieszinski gave up one hit and fanned six batters over a five-inning start for Tabor. He was able to pitch with a lead after Tabor plated four runs in the third inning.
Austin White drove in a run during his three-hit day for the Blue Birds. Christian Uecker added two hits, while Zach Sutera drove in two runs. Prestin White had a team-high three runs, and on the mound, struck out five in four relief innings.
For Yankton, Peyton Mueller took the loss, allowing two earned runs in four innings. He also struck out five batters. Cole Porter gave up four runs (one earned) and fanned six batters in a five-inning start. The Lakers were held to two hits, though Billy Hancock hit a home run.
Tabor (4-0) hosts the Yankton Tappers on Sunday. The Lakers (1-3) host Menno on Sunday.
