WATERTOWN -- Sioux Falls Christian swept Madison in the first round of the Class A state tournament on Thursday. Set scores were 25-10, 25-15 and 25-21.
Sioux Falls Christian (26-1): Abby Glanzer had a match-high 18 kills to go with eight digs, while Kelsi Heard dished out 34 assists. Kylah vanDonkersgoed added 10 digs and Sydney Tims finished with eight kills in the win. Sioux Falls Christian plays Hamlin in the semifinals at 5 p.m. today.
Madison (16-5): Sophia Vandenbosch put down eight kills and six digs for the Bulldogs. Kylie Krusemark added 16 assists. Madison plays Winner at noon today.
Sioux Falls O’Gorman 3, Harrisburg 2
BROOKINGS -- Sioux Falls O’Gorman avoided an upset by outlasting Harrisburg in five sets to open the Class AA state tournament on Thursday. Set scores were 25-17, 19-25, 25-14, 25-27 and 15-12.
Sioux Falls O’Gorman (24-0): Raegen Reilly dished out 42 assists and 14 digs, while Bergen Reilly had team highs of 16 digs and 15 kills. Isabella Steffel and Elaina Lubeck chipped in 12 and 10 kills, respectively. Brynn Askew added 13 digs in the win. Sioux Falls O’Gorman plays Sioux Falls Washington at 5 p.m. today.

Harrisburg (14-12): Abby Meister recorded 13 kills and 13 digs. Reese Jansa finished with 12 kills and Mercedes Covrig chipped in 35 assists and 11 digs. Harrisburg plays Aberdeen Central at noon today.

BROOKINGS -- Sioux Falls Washington took down Aberdeen Central in four sets to advance to the Class AA state tournament winner’s bracket. Set scores were 25-21, 18-25, 25-20 and 25-23.
Sioux Falls Washington (16-5): Sydni Schetnan put down 20 kills, while Joslyn Richardson and Ellie Walker added 15 and 12 kills, respectively. Richardson also chipped in 13 digs. Katy Richardson dished out 52 assists and 11 digs in the win. Jadyn Schetnan recorded 15 digs. Sioux Falls Washington plays Sioux Falls O’Gorman at 5 p.m. today.
Aberdeen Central (17-8 before): Brooklyn Kusler finished with 19 kills and 10 digs. Grace Myhre recorded 33 assists, while Sydney Evans recorded 15 digs. Hannah Keil chipped in 12 digs and Kayleigh Fauth recorded 10 digs. Aberdeen Central plays Harrisburg at noon today.
