RENNER -- The Parkston Mudcats fell to the Renner Monarchs 4-3 Friday in amateur baseball action.
For Parkston, Anthony Williams had three singles and Brady Nolz had two singles.
Trevor Arnold took the loss for the Mudcats. He pitched eight innings and allowed seven hits, four runs, four walks and struck out six batters.
Parkston (5-2) will face the Mitchell Mad Dogs at 5 p.m. Sunday.

EMERY -- Phil Johnson threw eight innings to lead the Dimock/Emery amateur baseball team past Platte 8-2 Friday.
Johnson gave up four hits, two runs, one walk and he struck out 10. Jason Schmidt came in and pitched the final inning with three strikeouts.
Gary Earl had three hits, Darin Bartscher had two hits and two RBIs and Sam Pischke had two hits with a triple.
Platte's Casey Buehner was the losing pitcher and Myles Kuyper had a single.
Dimock/Emery is 4-5 and plays today in Larchwood, Iowa, while Platte is 0-2 and hosts Alexandria Sunday in Platte.
Mitchell native Uher named scholar-athlete

The NAIA released its Daktronics track and field scholar-athletes Friday, and among the list was Mitchell native Stephanie Uher.
Uher, a Dakota State University athlete, qualified for the list with a cumulative GPAC of 3.5 and achieved junior academic status.
DSU is back in action today at the outdoor track and field national championships in Marion, Ind.
