PROVO, Utah - The South Dakota State University women’s basketball team fell to Brigham Young University 81-53 Friday in a nonconference game.

BYU (1-0) had four players in double-digit scoring figures with Lexi Eaton and Kim Beeston leading the way with 18 apiece.

Megan Waytashek was the only Jackrabbit to score in double digits with 12 points. Mitchell native and freshman Kerri Young had five points, one rebound and two assists in 19 minutes for SDSU, which shot 27.4 percent from the floor and 66.7 percent from the free-throw line.

SDSU (0-1) returns to action Tuesday at Creighton University. Tipoff is set for 7:05 p.m. in Omaha, Neb.
