The Mitchell High School softball team allowed 25 runs as it dropped both games of a doubleheader against Harrisburg on Thursday. The Kernels fell 12-1 and 13-3.
In Game 1, Harrisburg broke open a 1-1 game with eight runs in the fourth inning and three runs in the fifth frame. It had 17 hits in the win.
Kathleen Nash went 1-for-2 with a double and RBI and Camryn Krogman had Mitchell’s other hit. Jacey Linke allowed 12 earned runs in a complete game loss.
Harrisburg scored 11 runs between the third and fourth innings of the second game. It outhit the Kernels, 12-5.
Ally Barlean homered in the loss for Mitchell. Macey Linke also drove in a run, while Krogman, Keirstyn Krcil and Kassidy Overweg all had one hit. Krcil took the loss, allowing 13 runs (one earned).
Mitchell (3-20) hosts Sioux Falls Roosevelt on Tuesday.
