SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -- The Mitchell Marlins boys hockey team clawed back to tie Sioux Center twice, only for the Storm to score three unanswered goals in the third period to win 6-3 Saturday.
Sioux Center scored the lone goal of the first period and tacked on another two minutes into the second. But Ashton Reimnitz scored five minutes later and Mick Dailey tied the game at the 12-minute mark. The Storm came back with a goal from Easton Vanden Berg prior to the end of the period and regained a 3-2 lead.
Tanner Puetz tied the game again for the Marlins 30 seconds into the third, but Matthew King scored the eventual game-winner at the three-minute mark. Sioux Center (4-2) got two more goals late in the period to seal the win.
William Elfstrand had two assists for Mitchell (0-7), while Puetz had an assist. Connor Delehant stopped 40 of 46 shots on goal.
Blake Cannegieter made 18 saves for the Storm.
