Brothers Tyler and Camden Myers helped propel the Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan Seahawks’ defense to a championship season, all-the-while trying to keep up with one another.
The two were at the center of the Seahawks’ 36-6 win over Arlington in the Class 9AA state championship game Thursday at the DakotaDome in Vermillion, with Tyler taking home outstanding lineman honors, and Camden finishing the year with a new Seahawk team record for sacks in a season with 15.
“We have a great relationship and it was amazing having him out there this year,” Tyler said about his first year playing significant minutes with his brother at the high school level.
Senior Tyler and sophomore Camden and have been a part of a Seahawk defense that has created chaos for opposing offenses. BEE has allowed just 10.75 points per game this season and has recorded three shutouts.
“It feels great to win this game with him and even though I can’t, I would love to do it again,” Camden said of winning the state title with his brother whose Seahawk career has come to an end.

Coming into the championship game, each brother made it known to the other who was going to finish the year with the most tackles for BEE.
“At home he said I wasn’t going to pass him, and I wish I could have, so I could have rubbed it in his face,” Camden said jokingly after falling just short of the team lead in tackles.
“We were arguing back-and-forth about who was going to get the most tackles in today’s game this morning and I thought it was going to end up in a brawl,” Tyler said.
Tyler completed his final season with 115 tackles, seven sacks and two fumble recoveries.
Camden started for the Seahawks for the first time and finished the season with 107 tackles, 15 sacks and two fumble recoveries.
“Together they were solid as a rock for us this year,” BEE coach Jeff VanLeur said. “With Tyler being a senior he went out there this year and gave it his all, and Camden showed that he wasn’t going to be outdone.”
